Efficacy-safety trade-off and patient selection: A meta-analysis informing clinical choice between CAR-T and bispecific antibodies for R/R B-NHL

Last Updated: Friday, October 16, 2026

A meta-analysis of data from 59 phase I/II trials that included 2,914 patients compared the efficacy and safety of CAR T-cell therapy versus bispecific antibodies in the treatment of relapsed/refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. CAR T-cell therapy was associated with higher objective response rates but also higher rates of grade 3 or higher cytokine release syndrome. The researchers concluded that CAR T-cell therapy may be well tailored to patients who prioritize a deeper remission, although bispecific antibodies may be a better choice for patients who are frail or who want outpatient care with lower toxicity risk.
